This Old House Redone
Historic homes are full of charm and grace, but often lack the interior space that families need today. This was the case for my clients who found this lovely quaint home on a beautiful treed street of an old Ontario town. The property was gracious and deep, and the in-ground pool was a welcome amenity for the young family. Working within the zoning setbacks allowed, the addition to the rear doubles the interior space while maintaining the integrity & proportions of the house at the front. On the exterior, the repetition of window sizes, board & batten siding and steel roofing creates a flow between old and new. Working with an old stone foundation requires proper engineering, building techniques & skilled trades to produce a successful outcome.
